Careers
Housing Support Specialist
The Housing Support Specialists are responsible for helping individuals and families attain and maintain housing by assisting them in accomplishing their objectives. The position encompasses serving any or all of the following groups based on program requirements: individuals, families, survivors of domestic violence, victims of dating violence and stalking, persons with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, physical and mental illness and impairment, involvement in the criminal justice system, child protective services involvement and others. Individuals in this capacity may be assigned to work with different program model types depending on program needs, such as Permanent Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Transitional Housing and Rapid Re-Housing. Advent House Ministries’ Housing Programs operate following a Harm Reduction and Housing First approach. Services are trauma-informed, participant-centered and strengths-based.

A: Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Q: If I’m hungry, how can you help?
A: During business hours, we provide sack lunches when available to anyone in need who comes to our door. We also provide contacts to community resources.
Q: If I’m on the street, how can you help?
A: We will put you in contact with a member of one of our outreach teams.
